Last updated: 12 September 2026 ## Short version The site shows **no advertising** and uses **no third-party trackers**. The analytics are cookie-free, the forms store only what you type in yourself, and the password generator runs entirely in your browser, nothing you create there ever leaves your machine. I use [Plausible Analytics](https://plausible.io/privacy-focused-web-analytics) to see how many people read what. Plausible is cookie-free, anonymises your IP before it’s stored, and sets nothing in your browser. The analytics only load *after you’ve clicked “OK” on the banner at the bottom*. Google Analytics and Google’s ads tag are not used. --- ## What you send through the forms **Booking and contact.** When you send the contact form, I process your name, organisation, email address, which talk it concerns, the number of people, the dates you suggest and your message, so that I can answer you. The request is stored in my database, which only I have access to, and is sent at the same time as an email to my inbox through the email service [Resend](https://resend.com). You get a confirmation copy at the address you gave. **Applications to the fund.** If you send the form on [/sponsorship](https://danielchristensen.no/en/sponsorship), I process your name and email address, plus whatever you choose to fill in of team or school, age, amount, link and description. It is stored and sent the same way, and used only to consider the request and reply to you. If you are under 13, ask a parent or guardian before sending it. **Reviews.** If you get a link to write a review after a talk, I process your name, role, organisation, rating and the text you write. The review appears on the site only if you ticked the box allowing it, and you can withdraw that at any time by emailing me. **Legal basis.** For bookings and applications, the basis is that the processing is necessary to answer you and possibly enter into an agreement. For showing a review on the site, the basis is your consent, which you can withdraw. **Bots and abuse.** The forms are protected against bots with Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes certain technical signals from your browser to tell people from robots, without cookies and without tracking across websites. Submissions are also counted per IP address for a few minutes to stop spam. That count is not stored beyond it. **How long, and what you can ask for.** What you send stays until the matter is dealt with and I no longer need it, and is otherwise deleted when you ask. None of it is shared with anyone or used for marketing. You can at any time ask to see what I have stored about you, have it corrected or deleted, or complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority. --- ## Newsletter If you sign up for the newsletter, your email address is stored in a self-hosted newsletter system on my own server. No third party gets the address. It is used only to send the newsletter, and deleted when you unsubscribe. Every single mailing contains an unsubscribe link. --- ## Cookies and local storage Three things are stored in your browser, none of them for tracking: your language choice (Norwegian/English) is kept in a cookie so the site remembers it. Your analytics choice from the banner is kept in localStorage. In addition, one session cookie is set when logging into the admin area, that one only applies to me as the site owner. --- ## Logs The web server logs IP addresses and requested URLs for up to 14 days to detect attacks and fix errors. Traffic passes through Cloudflare, which protects the site and may process your IP address as part of that.
